After an eventful and strong year since the formation of Bergkvist-Siljan AB (publ.), the Group is taking the next step on its journey by recruiting a new CEO for its forest organization with continued focus on sustainable growth in the value chain Forest-Production-Market.

Katarina Mowitz, who will take over on 1 October 2020, is a trained forester and comes most recently from a position as Operations Manager Timber & Energy at Biometria. In the forestry industry, she has made herself known as a clear and motivating leader, has worked successfully with change programs, and has worked with determination and commitment with owners, colleagues and customers to support a positive development.

Katarina has been hired to further strengthen Bergkvist Siljan Skog’s attractiveness and ability to meet the challenges of the future, something she views positively. “It will be exciting to be a part of Bergkvist-Siljan Group’s future journey at the same time as we contribute to a sustainable society both locally and globally,” says Katarina Mowitz.

Ulf Bergkvist chairman of Bergkvist-Siljan, welcomes Katarina to the company and sees in her an experienced and independent force that will create a joint entity of Bergkvist-Siljan’s forest organization, which previously consisted of Bergkvist Siljan Skog AB and Weda Skog AB.

Jon Hansson leaves his role as MD of Bergkvist Siljan Skog to take on new challenges outside the company. “I have been involved in developing the group in various roles since 2003 and it feels natural to now hand over the baton to Katarina Mowitz,” says Jon Hansson. “We thank Jon for his great efforts for the Group during his years here and wish him the best of luck in his future challenges,” says Ulf Bergkvist.

During the period until Katarina Mowitz takes over as Managing Director, Anders Nilsson, President and CEO of Bergkvist-Siljan AB (publ.), will be acting MD of Bergkvist Siljan Skog AB.
