Bergkvist Siljan – Sustainability and Environment
Bergkvist Siljan is a forestry company that uses the renewable material wood as raw material to saw and plane timber products for customers all over the world.
Wood is the material of the future. Trees absorb carbon as they grow, and in our timber products, that carbon remains stored for a very long time! Over the past 100 years, Swedish forestry has greatly increased harvesting volumes while simultaneously increasing the total forested area.
We promote active forestry where the forest owner’s visions and goals are at the center. Our business concept is based on sustainable and long-term raw material supply from our local region.
Every part of the log is utilized. Sawdust, bark, and dry chips are turned into renewable fuels for our own boilers as well as local heating plants and pellet factories.
As a purchaser of forest raw materials, a user of forest land, and a supplier of timber products, Bergkvist Siljan is committed to operating in a sustainable way for society, the environment, and our employees.
We support the Swedish Forest Industries’ Future Agenda Pledges with a vision towards 2040.
